This is our most traditional recipe, rich in fruit, nuts and spices and would make a stunning centrepiece on any Christmas table. Just about the only improvement you could make to it would be to top it with a spring of holly.

Ingredients:

Vine Fruits (16.7%) (Sultanas, Currants, Raisins, Sunflower Oil), ALMONDS (NUTS)(11.9%), Cider (10.5%), Brown Sugar, Mixed Peel (Orange Peel, Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Sugar, Lemon Peel, Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid), Diced Apricots (Apricots, Rice Flour, Preservative: SULPHUR DIOXIDE), WALNUTS (NUTS), Whole EGG, Glacé Cherries (Cherries (48%), Glucose-Fructose Syrup, Sugar, Acidity Regulator: Citric Acid, Preservative: Potassium Sorbate; Colour: Erythrosine), Salted Butter (MILK, Salt), Golden Syrup, WHEAT Flour (Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamine), Breadcrumbs (WHEAT Flour (Calcium, Iron, Niacin, Thiamine), Water, Salt, Yeast), Vegetable Suet (Vegetable Fat Blend (Palm Oil), Rice Flour), Black Treacle (Invert Sugar Syrup, Molasses), Rum (0.6%), Brandy (0.6%), Colour: Caramel, Mixed Spice, Cinnamon.

Storage Information

Store in a cool dry place. Once opened consume within 3 days.

Cooking instructions 

To Microwave: Pierce film in several places and cook on full power for one and a half minutes.

To Steam or Boil: Remove all film and place in a steamer or saucepan filled with water to a depth halfway up the pudding bowl. Steam gently for 30 minutes Do not boil dry
